Each year, our Catholic learning communities are called to devote the month of June as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. ALCDSB acknowledges the compassionate love of Jesus revealed through the Sacred Heart, through prayer and reflection.
The Novena begins with a Day of Preparation on Wednesday, June 3, followed by Day 1 of the Novena on Thursday, June 4, and concludes on Friday, June 12, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Each day, schools are invited to pray in thanksgiving for all we have received and in petition for all that we still need. Schools and educators are invited to participate in the Novena in ways that best meet the needs of their communities.
The Institute for Catholic Education has once again prepared a Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a way for the Catholic community to join in prayer as we come to the close of another school year. The package includes a brief explanation of the novena, daily themes and prayers for schools, as well as fully narrated video versions of each day’s prayer.
